PETITION OP PACIFIC COAST RAILROADING
ASSOCIATION FOR LEAVE TO INTERVENE IN
THE ABOVE APPLICATION.

TO THE HONORABLE, THE INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION

Pacific Coast Railroading Association, herein after called, "Intervener", represents that it has an interest in the above entitled proceeding and the subject matter thereof, and desires to Intervene therein and become a party thereto, and that it opposes the granting of the application unless decision and certificate therein shall contain a condition that the lines shall be sold to any responsible person, firm, or corporation, offering to purchase the same for continued operation and willing to pay not less than the net salvage value thereof, and in support of this petition represents as follows

I.

Intervener is an unincorporated association and is not, at present, a railroad subject to the Interstate Commerce Act.

II.

That applicant proposes to, and desires to be afforded an opportunity to, acquire said lines proposed to be abandoned herein and to operate them as a common carrier, and to organize a corporation, for the carrying out of this proposal. Intervener has made a careful investigation of the said lines and the traffic potentiality thereof, and is of the firm opinion that it can finance and operate said lines, giving needed transportation service to the public, and at a profit to the operator.

III.

That public convenience and necessity would be subserved by the acquisition of said lines by this intervener and the continued operation thereof as proposed by it.

WHEREFORE, intervener prays for leave to intervene herein, and to be treated as a party hereto, with the right to have notice of and participation in any further hearing or proceedings which may be had in the matter.

Intervener further prays that if authority and certificate is granted to applicant, permitting abandonment, condition be contained therein that the lines shall be sold to any responsible person, firm, or corporation offering to purchase the same for continued operation and willing to pay not less than the net salvage value thereof,
