Interesting Points along the Way       Briceburg -Originally known as Bear Creek, 61 miles from Merced. Picturesque vistas here for which the Yosemite Valley Railroad journey is famous. Immediately across the river the new Briceburg-El Portal Highway parallels our right of way. This fine highway was constructed in part by convict labor.
       Named Briceburg after Mr. Brice had opened a store at this location.
