Y. V. Engineer Dies In Merced
Pascal H. LaBarraque, 44, of Merced died today in the Mercy hospital after a short illness. LaBarraque was employed as an engineer on the Yosemite Valley railroad for 14 years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Odd Fellows lodge.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hattie LaBarraque, Merced; his mother, Mrs. Rose LaBarraque, San Juan; and four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Jacinto, Mrs. Frances Burns and Mrs. Irene Echevria, all of San Jan, and Mrs. Rosalie Gil, Lone Oaks.
The Body is at the Ivers and Alcorn mortuary. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral Set For LaBarraque
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 in the Ivers and Alcorn Mission chapel for Pascal H. LaBarraque, 44, Yosemite Valley railroad engineer. LaBarraque died in Mercy hospital Tuesday after a brief illness.
The Rev. David McMartin will conduct the rites, Kenneth L. Robertson will be soloist. Members of Merced Post 83 of the American Legion and Post 1873 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be seated together.
The two organizations will conduct the rites at Evergreen mausoleum park. In charge of the rites will be Phil Eastman, officer of the day; Norton O. Johnson, Legion commander; Howard E. Manchester, Legion chaplain; Ward Scott, VFW commander; W. E. Fairbanks, Albert Guest, Gus Honderville, George Westmoreland and Oscar Wilde, color bearers; Eastman, E. B. Chinn, Elmer Clark, Charles H. Kinsley and John Brewer, firing squad, and Cliff Beddow and Frank Holland, buglers.
Pallbearers will be Louis Wilson, Robert F. Jersa, Henry B. Wood, H. Swineford, George H. Tucker and Louis Bacigalupi.
