RAILROAD AGENT DIES AT HOME

        A short illness preceded death of Charles F. Ewen, 68 at his Merced Falls home this morning. Ewen was Yosemite Valley railway company agent at Merced Falls for several years and had been in the railroad business 45 years.

        He moved here from Salt Lake 14 years ago. Ewen was a native of Missouri.

        He belonged to the Howard lodge of Masons in New Franklin, Sciots and Victoria Order of Eastern Star at Jefferson City. Ewen left his widow, Mrs. Mary Ewen in Merced Falls, and two daughters, Mrs. P. J. Shoup of Merced and Mrs. Claire Jones of San Francisco.

        His mother, Mrs. Mary Ewen and a brother, Harry Ewen live in St. Louis. Another brother, Lyman Ewen, is in Salt Lake.

        Services will be held at Ivers and Alcorn chapel Friday morning at 11 under auspices of Yosemite lodge of Masons. The body will be sent to Parkview for cremation.
