Y. V. WATCHMAN SUFFERS INJURY

George Hayes, night engine watchman of the Yosemite Valley railroad, suffered a painful accident this morning when, in closing the door of a box car, his hand was caught between the side of the car and the door, cutting a deep gash and severely bruising the back of his hand. It was necessary to take a number of stitches in the hand.

Mr. Hayes lives in Snelling and comes in on the afternoon train, returning to Snelling in the morning.
