Mahoney's Body Found
The body of J. C. Mahoney, conductor of the Yosemite Valley railroad, who was killed when his train was wrecked near North Fork on June 25, was found floating down the Merced river last Saturday morning. The fireman of an up-bound freight train discovered the body at a point about six miles below the scene of the wreck. The train was stopped and two of the members of the crew swam out and towed the body ashore. An inquest was held by Coroner Johnson of Mariposa county at Bagby, after which the remains were taken charge of by G. E. Nordgren of this city and shipped to Oakland for burial.
